Il Mare (2000) vs The Lake House (2006)

Both really good movies!! Well… essentially both the same movie, but then again, somehow different. While loyalty will always adhere to the original movie - especially one with such a unique plot, remakes are always going to strive for something additional that the original lacked and really, it just boils down to which version you happened to see first and… uh… language… actors and stuff… you know. Sortoffing… ish.

SO ANYWAY, I actually haven’t watched either version and it’s just way too much research for me to go through to write out a pretend review x_X

Go watch it yourself and I shall write a real one when I have time to watch both. Until then, as always… ENJOY!!! XD

Il Mare (2000)

  • Starring: Jeon Ji-Hyun, Jung-Jae Lee
  • Description: Han Seong Hyun (Lee Jung Jae, from Typhoon and Last Present), is an accomplished architect who moves into his father’s beach house, only to find himself put in the most extraordinary of circumstances. After dubbing the place “Il Mare” (”The Sea” in Italian), Seong Hyun receives a mysterious letter from a woman named Kim Eun Joo (Jeon Ji Hyun). Strangely, the letter is addressed to the person who will live in Il Mare after Eun Joo leaves, a puzzling statement considering the fact that Seong Hyun is the very first person to ever live in the house!Believing it to be some sort of a prank or perhaps just a misunderstanding, Seong Hyun initially disregards the anomaly, only to find himself drawn into correspondence with Eun Joo. But as the two begin conversing through exchanged letters, they eventually discover that their situation is as remarkable as it is downright unbelievable. It seems that Eun Joo is actually living in 1999, a full two years ahead of the time in which Seong Hyun resides! Can love cross the boundary of time?

The Lake House (2006)

  • Starring: Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock
  • Description: A lonely doctor (Sandra Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its newest resident, a frustrated architect (Keanu Reeves). When they discover that they’re actually living two years apart, they must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it’s too late.

Hmm… short. But pretty much the same as the former :D

OLDBOY… So Much Revengingness 0_o

I dunno about you, but I find this movie very cool and very freaky. Especially the tongue thing at the end. I can’t stand that. It makes me want to not run with scissors *FaiNt*

Winner of the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival and one of Quentin Tarantino’s favourites… Go watch if you’re on the over 18 side!!

This movie is based on a Japanese manga of the same name, and like the manga, it is the second part of “The Vengeance Trilogy” although all three parts (Part 1: Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Part 2: Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) stand alone and are not really related to each other except for themewise. You know… this whole vengeance-revenge-I-kill-you-real-good-me-so-craaaazy-theme sortoffing.

Description: An average man is kidnapped and imprisoned in a shabby cell for 15 years without explanation. He then is released, equipped with money, a cellphone and expensive clothes. As he strives to explain his imprisonment and get his revenge, he soon finds out that not only his kidnapper still has plans for him, but that those plans will serve as an even worse finale to 15 years of imprisonment.

Starring:
Choi Min-Sik as Oh Dae-Su
Yu Ji-Tae as Lee Woo-Jin
Kang Hye as Jeong - Mi-Do

100 Days With Mr. Arrogant (My Love Ssagaji or 내 사랑 싸가지)

Posted especially for the one known as Eggs! Enjoy!!

  • Genre: Romantic Comedy
  • Starring: Ha Ji Won, Han Min, Hong Ji-Yeong, Kim Chang Wan, Kim Jae Won, Kim Ji Yu, Kim Min-Kyeong, Kim Tae Hyun, Lee Eung Kyung
  • Description: After being dumped by her boyfriend just before their 100 day anniversary, Ha-Young (Ha Ji-Won) meets a college guy named Hyung-Joon (Kim Jae Won) when she accidentally kicks a can that hits him in the face and causes him to scratch his Lexus. He demands she pay him $3000 on the spot. She escapes from him, leaving her wallet behind. Hyung-Joon stalks her, demanding money to pay for his car. Since she is a poor high school student Hyung-Joon writes up a “Enslavement Agreement” for Ha-Young in order to pay for the damage to his car. Ha-Young is thrown into a nightmarish slave life for 100 days, cleaning his house, running his errands, doing his homework and cleaning his car.

Cute movie! The original Korean title can be literally translated as “my love, the asshole,” or, more roughly, as “my love, the no-manners”. Yes, it’s a bit on the chick flicky side, but some great laughs for everyone!

Well… it *IS* just a plant :P

The same way a pedophile’s just a person. Eh? What?

ekZACKly!!

DID SHE NOW?? You know… it’s after this page when you’re glad they’re just talking aboot marijoowana

Kids Books you gotta love! All joking aside, this is actually supposed to be an educational child’s book designed for parents who want to help introduce (perhaps that isn’t the best word…) their children to marijuana. Think more facts-about-it and less here-try-a-drag.

From the FAQ section of the “It’s Just a Plant” website:

Who made It’s Just a Plant?

The story was written & illustrated by Ricardo Cortés, director of Magic Propaganda Mill. Contributing artists to the Second Edition of the book include FUTURA, Too Fly, SMARCUS, V. C. Johnson, José Parlá, Che Jen, Joshua Humphries, Sara Press, and Tillamook Cheddar.

One must credit where credit is due! And without further ado, here’s the rest of the book (…ish).

Read it! You know you want to.

A Freebie or Two… or Five :)

I did say I would be posting up free stuff and samples from time to time when they come my way! These aren’t affiliated with any third/fourth/fifth party Brandarama style marketing programs or anything like that, nor will take you to other ads. Those kinds of roundabout things annoy me so much. They always seem too good to be true and you never end up getting what they promised you!

Anyway! So I always go out of my way to find freebies that are from the original manufacturer website instead of from other people’s blogs or “free stuff” pages to make sure these take you straight to the freebie and back. No pop-ups, no poos. Hoho!

Lacoste Essential for men! I just sent off for mine, and after the registration, it asks you to fill in another form for your friend so he or she may receive a sample as well. Funfunfun! There’s a list of countries that can receive this. Forgot which ones besides U.S.A and Canada, so go see for yourself at the official Lacoste website here.

Another perfume sample! Hugo Boss Pure for Men! Same deal as the Lacoste one. Get one for yourself, send the other to a friend. A lot of countries listed. China being one of them. Er… some other ones too… that’s all I can remember, sorry!
Anyway! Click this link to get to the Hugo Boss Fragrances official website! All the other samples are out of stock, only Pure is left so act quick!

I like this one! It’s so cute! The site is called TheSoapLady and it offers handmade soap loaf. Here’s the offer from her site (Canada only):
For free samples of our handmade soap
send a S.A.S.E. (self addressed 1.15$ stamped envelope) to:

If you’re 18 or over and live in the U.S.A, you can get this sample from Dove. I’m not sure why you have to be a certain age, but I’m guessing that this particular product might not be suitable for younger skin. Anyway, come here to get your free Dove Pro-Age!

This one is especially for Kris W. of Vancouver. Enjoy and I love you :P well… slightly. Anyone else who feels like spreading the love but not the STDs can click here. This is a Canadian site so I’m not sure if they ship anywhere else. I’m also not sure if they’ll send you exactly what the picture is but you can only try and ask!

American readers, click here! So sue me, it’s really hard getting good free stuff online you know. If you don’t need such things pass them on to your married friends you good moral and pious people you.

Must run! Leave a comment or five :)
